Whether you're getting your feet wet in anatomy or want to bone up on your physiology, our silly happy organs make the perfect gift for everything from a broken heart to a tummy ache.
I Heart Guts is the brainchild of anatomically obsessed illustrator Wendy Bryan Lazar, who loves internal organs and all they do. Founded in 2005, our bare-bones family operation strives to offer the best in stoopid slogans paired with happy gloppy guts.
The guts grew from a single drawing of a broken heart, after a string of bad hookups, dead-end relationships and lame-o boyfriends. At the time, I was also doing a lot of drinking and smoking, so a sad liver and bummed-out lung followed. Years later, my wonderful husband wondered, “Why don’t you do something with those darned guts?”
I Heart Guts started life as a collection of t-shirts, buttons and stickers, until one day a customer requested a plush kidney to "give back" a kidney to his donor brother. Plush organs were born, and the guts took over my life, kinda like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," but cute and fluffy. Our Threadless Artist Shop has been a great way to make designs -- bladders! appendixes! mugs! phone cases! -- I've dreamed of but didn't have enough resources to produce on my own. Thanks, Threadless!
